A.M.Panchali Janodya Adikari. 16 year old Student of Mahamaya Girls College,Kandy is an outstanding Badminton Player and currently she is ranked No.1 in singles as well as doubles in the Under 17 age category.

Her partner at the doubles is Vithara Nallaperumarachchi of Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara. Panchali’s ambition is to represent Sri Lanka at the Olympic Games in Badminton in the future. Her International performances in the year 2018/19 are as follows:

Represented Sri Lanka at the Myanmar Championship in the Under 17 Age Category and came up to the third round. Represented Sri Lanka at the team championship held in China in the under 17 Age category. Represented the Country at the World Junior Championship in Russia in the Under 17 age category.

Represented the Country at the Asia Junior – Under 15 and 17 Championship held In Indonesia. Panchali’s National Achievements in the years 2018/19. Under 17- Singles Champion at the SSC Open Badminton championship.

Under 17 – Singles and doubles Champion with Vithara Nallapperumarachchi at the Defenders Open Badminton Championship.

Under 17 – Singles Champion at the SSC Open Badminton championship.

Under 17 – Singles Champion at the Uva province Badminton Championship.

Panchali is thankful to her coaches R.S.Dahanayake and Lasantha Thilakawardena and due to Covid-19 epidemic Badminton practices are not being held but she is following a Badminton Course on the Whatsapp conducted by the Sri Lanka Badminton Association.
