Tarinda Ratwatte ends as season’s highest scorer

The highest rugby points scorer of the season Tarinda Ratwatte is a product of Trinity College.

Ratwatte led his school in 2014 playing as a fly half and straight from school joined CR & FC. Last year he moved to Kandy SC and became the highest point’s scorer for the current season. This season even though he didn’t play in his normal position as fly half but as a center he did his job for the club scoring tries and goal kicking.

He scored three tries, 42 try conversions and eight penalties, and ended as the top points scorer with a total of 123 points. Ratwatte led the Sri Lanka under 19 side in the Junior World Rugby Tournament – Asian edition.

His father Ashan Ratwatte started with Kandy SC captaining in 1986 and later played for CR & FC.

Both father and son led Trinity College and were Lion winners and represented their country.
