Pawan reaches 1000-run mark with fifth ton

Pawan Rathnayake of Mahanama College Colombo made fifth ton and passed 1000 runs milestone in this season of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 19 inter Schools Cricket tournament yesterday.

St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa beat St. Anne’s College Kurunegalaby 2 wickets and Wesley College Colombo beat Kingswood College Kandy by innings and 141 runs. Other matches were drawn.

Pawan Rathnayake scored unbeaten 168 runs in 259 balls with 18 boundaries against Prince of Wales College Moratuwa. Induwara Jayasinghe of Prince College Ratnapura took 11 wickets against Gankanda Central College.
