Vain effort by Dilhara

A fine match bag of 10 for 92/8/54 and 2/38 and 55 runs by all rounder and captain of Holy Cross College Kalutara Dilhara Nanayakkara was of no avail as they drew with Devananda Vidyalaya Ambalangoda in their inter school first eleven cricket match played at Balapitiya However Holy Cross College were able to carry away the major honours in this match.

Taking the first lease visitors scored 194 runs and in reply Devananda were all out for 128 runs with Milaksha Senarathne scoring 51 runs and in their second essay Holy Cross College made 186 runs with Nilaksha Kasun and Aathif Azly scoring 70 and 47 runs respectively. Set to make 253 runs for an outright win homesters were reeling at 90 for 5 at stumps.
