Triple centurion of the season Avishka Tharindu of St. Anthony’s College Wattala crossed the 1000-run mark for the season in their ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 19 inter-schools cricket match against St John’s Jaffna which ended in a draw at Jaffna yesterday.
Tharindu has scored 1008 runs in 12 innings (10 matches) with 2 not outs and averages 112. He made a triple century against Lumbini College Colombo and a century against Devapathiraja College Rathgama in addition to three fifties.
Samith Isuru skipper of Karandeniya scored his third century of the season with 128 against Revatha College Balapitiya while Malsha Tharupathi took a match bag of 10 wickets to bowl Madampa Central to a 63-run win over Siddhartha MMV Balapitiya. The rest of the matches ended in draws.
