A brilliant knock of 190 runs by the captain and an allrounder Hasitha Navanjana enabled Defense College, Colombo to defeat Horizon International School Malabe by innings and 54 runs in their inter school first eleven cricket match worked off at Kirindiwela.
Hasitha who bats right hand and bowls right arm off spin had 28 hits to the ropes and two over and occupied the crease for 195 minutes and faced 167 balls. Also he was associated in a third wicket partnership of 149 runs with Dilshan Kaushalliya who made 58 runs and another stand of 115 runs for the fourth wicket with Dinal Charuka who contributed 42 runs.
Batting first homesters were shot out for 88 runs with Hasitha Navanjana claiming 5 for 25 runs and in reply visitors declared at 316 for 5 and following on Horizon International did much better to score 174 runs with Yehan Lakvindu scoring 92 runs and Hasitha Navanjana had a match bag of 8 for 89.
