Nalanda champs at Olcott memorial schools sixes

Nalanda College retained the Sir Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Inter-School six-a-side cricket title when they beat Dharmaraja College Kandy by three wickets in the final of the 20th tournament held at Galle yesterday.

Nalanda beat Dharmasoka Ambalangoda in the first round and Ananda in the semi-finals.

Dharmaraja beat Rahula Matara in the first round and Dharmapala Pannipitiya in the semi-finals.

Eight Buddhist schools in the island namely Ananda, Nalanda, Mahinda, Dharmaraja, Maliyadeva, Dharmasoka, Rahula and Dharmapala took part.

The Old Boy’s tournament will be held today and tomorrow at Galle.
