Wekadapola to referee at WWBC in Russia

One of Sri Lanka’s leading boxing referees, Rukman Wekadapola has been selected to officiate at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship (WWBC) to be held in Ulan-Ude, Russia from October 3 to 13.

A three-star international referee, Wekadapola also officiated as a referee at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the AIBA Women World Boxing Championships held in New Delhi, India last year. An old boy of Pilimatalawa Central College, Kandy, Wekadapola is a winner of the Stubbs Shield Meet in 1987 and qualified as a National panel referee in 2000.
