Sri Lanka A openers Pathum Nissanka and Sangeeth Cooray made short work of Pakistan A’s first innings lead of 62 by posting an unfinished stand of 126 by the close of the third day in the second and final 4-day unofficial test played at Hambantota yesterday.
Nissanka completed his second half-century of the match remaining unbeaten on 75 scored off 125 balls with 10 fours to add to his first innings knock of 85 and, Cooray completed his half-century off 103 balls (7 fours) shortly before the close.
Sri Lanka A lead overall by 64 runs going into the fourth and final day today. Earlier Bangladesh A extended their first innings to 330 starting the day at 283-6 with Mehidy Hasan contributing an unbeaten 38 and fast bowler Mohamed Shiraz capturing five wickets for 63 and left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya taking three for 114.
