Hiruka steers Royal Institute to victory

A match bag of 10 for 61 (5/28 and 5/33) by Hiruka Munasinghe guided Royal Institute to defeat Sri Subuthi National School Battaramulla by two runs on first innings and qualify for the fifth round (last 32 teams) in their inter school under 15 division three tournament cricket match worked off at Wellawatte.

Hiruka has so far claimed 39 wickets in eight matches giving away 315 runs with five five wicket hauls at an average of 8.2 Perhaps he may be the highest wicket taker of division three tournament.

Batting first Sri Subuthi were all out for 113 runs and in reply Royal Institute declared at 115 for 6 and at stumps visitors were reeling at 64 for 8.

Sri Subuthi NS – 34.5 overs – (Dumanga Niketh 30, Hiruka Munasinghe 5/28, Hamdan Dilshad 2/16, Rakindu Lekamge 2/16 and 64/8 – (Hiruka Munasinghe 5/33, Rakindu Lekamge 2/16).

Royal Institute – 115/6 dec in 26 overs – (Adithya Hettiarachchi 30, Minada Amerasinghe 32, Ashan Boruppa 37, Chamod Chaminda 2/25, Rasindu Dananjaya 2/11).
