More paddlers are expected to take part at the All Island Open ranking Table Tennis championships which scheduled to be held from October 3 to 5 at the S.Thomas Gymnasium Mt Lavinia .
According to the chairman if the organizing committee Chandana Perera this tournament is conducted by the Colombo district Table Tennis Association together with State Services Table Tennis Association and it is very important for the players to improve their national rankings.
The events of men's and women's open singles, boys and girls under 10, 12, 15, 18 singles events to be conducted in this tournament and no doubles events are included in this tournament. Due to many entries of this tournament organizers are expected to conduct qualification events for the open men and women singles. The highest number of 124 matches to be conducted for the men's qualification round while 82 matches will be played for the boys under 15 qualifications round .The main attraction of the tournament is open men and women singles as most of the high ranking paddlers are expected to take part this tournament.
