Zonal Education Office, Akkaraipattu held its annual Kids’ Athletics Championship -2019 at the Addalaichenai Ashraff Memorial Public Play Grounds recently.
Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Office Assistant Education Director (Primary Education) M.A.Authahir organized the programme while Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Office Primary Unit School Sports Development Project Co-ordinator A.L.Faiz was responsible for the programme.
Eastern Province Education Ministry Secretary I.K.G.Muthubanda was the chief guest and Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Director A.M.Rahmathulla participated as the special guest on the occasion.
Around 1000 students took part in the sports meets from Pottuvil, Addalaichenai and Akkaraipattu Divisional Schools. Sprint hurdles, knee throw, squared jump, cross hopping and skipping were some of the games that wereheld at the event.
Compering of the event was done by the students from the same age groups. The judges selected each school, in accordance with the performance.
