The second-day events were held without floodlights as there was a power cut and the running events could not be conducted in the dark.

The organizers found to their misery that power cuts meant they could not get the floodlights running even if they wanted to. Also the stadium charged Rs. 150,000 plus for one hour of floodlights where two-hour cost could book the entire stadium for another day. Power to the main building was given through a generator.
