Sri Lanka Port Authority’s Sujith Hasantha wins second stage

The winners of day two at Bandarawela (and below): Winner Sujith Hasantha of Sri Lanka Port Authority team, first runner-up Chamod de Silva of Sri Lanka Port Authority team and second runner-up Janaka Hemantha of Sri Lanka Navy team with officials.

Day two of the SLT Speedup Cycle Sawariya started from Embilipitiya on its way to Bandarawela yesterday and the cyclists travelled through Ambalantota, Hambantota, Weerawila, Wellawaya, Ella to reach Bandarawela covering a distance of 156 km.

The race was flagged off by Sanjaya Kumara, Deputy General Manager (SLT) - Sabaragamuwa Province.

The winner of day two was Sujith Hasantha of Sri Lanka Port Authority team.

The first and second runners-up were Chamod de Silva of Sri Lanka Port Authority team and Janaka Hemantha of Sri Lanka Navy team respectively.

On day one the Tour Leader Jersey was received by Chamika Sandun Kumara of Sri Lanka Navy team while Chamod de Silva of Sri Lanka Port Authority received the Best Young Rider Jersey.

Chamika Sandun Kumara of Sri Lanka Navy team received the Best Sprinter Jersey along with team mate Nihal Silva.

The King of the Mountain Jersey was won by Viran Ramesh of Sri Lanka Port Authority.

All these jersey winners will travel to the finishing line wearing their jerseys.

The third day of the race today starts at 9.00am from Bandarawela and will travel through Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and to the finish at Kurunegala.
