The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) rope pullers competing in the 14th Asian Tug-of-War Championship secured third place under the 500kg category while the Sri Lankan Men’s team carried the fourth place.
The tournament was held recently at the Ayutthaya Indoor Stadium in Thailand.
Majority of the pullers in the Sri Lankan Men’s team came from the Army.
This year’s 14th Asian Tug-of-War Indoor Championship thus adjudged both Lanka teams as champions, considering their skills, speed and force with which all of them competed.
