A 14-member strong senior volleyball team leaves Sri Lankan shores this week to compete for a top finish at the Asian Volleyball Championship 2019 that will be worked off from August 18 to 25 in Seoul, South Korea.
In the previous Asian championship, Sri Lanka secured the 12th place, while Japan became the overall champions.
In this year’s tournament, Sri Lanka is in Pool D and will compete against Indonesia and China in the preliminary round matches. Teams from 13 countries will be competing in the Asian Championship. Dialog Axiata PLC is the official sponsor of the national cricket, rugby, volleyball and netball teams, and is also closely associated with schools cricket, club rugby, club football and Para Games.
