Pothuwila Navodya MV, Payagala, Nagoda MV, Kalutara and Agamethi Balika MV, Panadura emerged Volleyball Champions in the under 16, 18 and 20 Age Groups respectively at the Kalutara Zonal Inter-school Girls’ Volleyball Championship. organized by the Sports Dept of the Kalutara Zonal Education Office, and held at the Pothupitiya MV, playground Wadduwa during the last few days.
All the girls’ events were worked off under the instructions of senior ISA (sports and health education) Rasika Dharmakeerthi De Silva and his supporting sports teachers.
Wadduwa Balika Vidyalaya Sangamitha Balika Vidyalaya, in Aluthgama and Miriswatte MV, Dodangoda emerged runner up respectively at these tournaments.
All these winning teams qualified to compete at the Western Province Volleyball Championship which is due to be held in Colombo in the future.
