Kavinda to play for Stowe School, UK

Promising cricketer from the British School in Colombo (BSC), Kavinda Subasinghe has been rewarded with a full scholarship to represent the Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, England during the upcoming First XI cricket season.

Cricket is a key sport at Stowe School which has excellent facilities for the sport.

The right-arm fast bowler and left-hand middle order batsman has spearheaded the British School bowling attack in the past two years and has captained the Under-15 and Under-17 teams which toured Malaysia, England and India.

Kavinda also played a major role in guiding the British School to clinch the Inter-International Schools Under-17 title where he returned excellent figures of four for 17 in the final against Lyceum, Nugegoda.

Altogether, Kavinda has compiled seven centuries and 20 half centuries for the British School during his Inter-Schools career and has also functioned as wicket-keeper when required.

Kavinda was also picked in the first ever Sri Lanka International Schools Cricket Team which participate in the International Schools Cricket Premier League held in India last December.

Kavinda is currently in Year-12 studying for his Advanced Levels and is a Senior Prefect of the British School in Colombo.
