About 3,888 senior sportspersons will get appointments as sports coaches for government schools today at Temple Trees in a ceremony at 11.30 am held under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The new recruits have recorded wins at international and national sports competitions.
Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today at a press briefing that the new coaches will be given more training at a cost of 3 million rupees before they are directed to schools.
