Kaveen Anjana excels for Methodist High School

The under 13 division three cricket captain of Methodist High School, Puwakaramba Moratuwa Kaveen Ajnana Fernando guided his team to clinch the Singer Trophy with his all round performance and he scored 976 runs in fourteen matches with an average of 81.1 with the top score of an unbeaten 163 runs against Mahanama College Colombo and claimed 27 wickets with the best being against Herman Gminner College Piliyandala with 5 for 36.

He commenced his cricket career at the age of ten and players for three successive yeas and in the year 2018 he scored 320 runs. In this years tournament he scored three centuries and six half centuries.

He bats right hand and bowls right arm leg spin and he opens batting too. This is the first ever instance that Methodians won a championship in their 54 year cricket history.

They are coached by Anuruddha Rajeva and Shamith Mendis respectively.

The principal Mrs. M. Lilanthi Perera and Master-in-charge of cricket Danapriya Muthukuarana helped them to achieve this feat.
