St. Aloysius College Galle will meet Vidyaloka Vidyalaya Galle in their inaugural one-day cricket encounter named ‘Glory of Galle’ at the Galle International Cricket Stadium today.
This annual encounter is sponsored by D. Samson & Sons Industries (DSI).
St. Aloysius will be led by 5th year player Gimhana Ashirwada and Vidyaloka by 6th year player Sanju Lakshan.
Ashirwada, deputy skipper Chatura Prabath and Sandeepa Shamod are the most experienced players in the St. Aloysius side. They also have some youngsters. St. Aloysius recorded two outright victories this season and Ashirwada has scored more than 500 runs and Prabath 400 runs.
Vidyaloka has recorded 7 outright victories for the season with skipper Sanju Lakshan scoring over 600 runs and deputy skipper and wicket keeper Ramuditha Disal over 400 runs. Leg spinner Nadeera Ishan has captured 100 wickets for the season and will be the key bowler in the contest. He has also scored 400 runs.
