Gunter Mohr-9th Dan Karate veteran and his son Patrick Mohr-2nd Dan Karate Instructor from Germany, visited Sri Lanka recently to conduct a Karate Training campTheir first Training Session took place at Gampaha Botanical Garden grounds on 21st of December for hundreds of Sri Lankan Karatekas. General Secretary of Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation P. Basnayake and Chief Instructors/Instructors from various Karate Associations participated with their students.
This was a very rare opportunity for Sri Lankan Karatekas, as Gunter Mohr is a world recognized Karate Instructor. He served as the national Coach in Germany for 21 years. (1981 to 2001) Gunter Mohr was a member of German National Kumite Team in 1977 and who won the second place in World Karate Championships. Gunter Mohr has taken great plans to develop Karate in Sri Lanka since 1977.
K.A.Piyaratne from Shotokan Karate Kyoukai and Tudor Perera in Lanka Shotokan Karate Sport Centre organised the Training program.
