Windies Cricket Academy won a double at the second annual Matale Inter Academy cricket tournament held at St Thomas College grounds Matale recently . Windies cricket Academy Re Electricals team led by Theekshana Hasintha won the under 14 championship defeating WCA Babara Bathiks team who emerged runner up and Royal Kings cricket club ended up in third place. Eight teams four teams each for under 12 and four teams for under 14 participated in this tournament.
Prabath Jayasuriya the National spinner from Matale was the chief guest at the awards ceremony while R . Sreedaran Managing Director of R.S Electrical, Fathima Rinoosa Managing Director of Grand City Matale and Sajeewani Abeygunawardena Managing partner of Chime Tex International graced the occasion as guests of honour with head of the Windes cricket Academy Ravi Punchihewa.
Isuru Gunasekara and Aqiub Jaleel of Windies Cricket Academy won the player of the tournament in the under 12 and under 14 age groups respectively.
