Out of a total of 346 cricketers, Lasith Malinga and Angelo Mathews have been shortlisted for the upcoming Indian Premier League auction.The two Sri Lankan national players along with seven other foreign national players; have been listed themselves at the base price of approx INR. 2 Crore.
In total seven players from Sri Lanka namely fast bowler Lasith Malinga, all rounder Angelo Mathews, wicket keeper/ bat Kusal Janith Perera ( Base price of approx INR.75 Lakh) while all rounders Jeewan Mendis, Thisara Perera, Dasun Chanaka and Isuru Udana (all are at the base price of approx INR. 50 Lakh) has got the nod for the auction.
The nine players who have listed themselves at the highest base price of approx INR. 2 Crore are Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka), Brendon McCullum,Corey Anderson (New Zealand), Chris Woakes, Sam Curran (England ), Shaun Marsh, D’Arcy Short (Austrailia) and Colin Ingram (South Africa) , The franchises were requested to submit their final shortlist on
December 10 and the auction will take place on December 18.
Number of players from each country included for the auction are India - 226, South Africa - 26, Australia - 23, West Indies - 18, England - 18, New Zealand - 13, Afghanistan - 8, Sri Lanka - 7, Zimbabwe - 2 , Bangladesh - 2, Ireland - 1, Netherlands - 1 and USA - 1,
