A brilliant 110 runs by Anush Polonowita enabled Royal College Colombo to beat St. Sylvester's College Kandy by 72 runs on first innings in their inter-school under 13 division two tournament cricket match played for the Singer Trophy. By virtue of this victory Royalists are through to the pre-quarter finals.
Anush hit 22 fours and occupied the crease for 127 minutes and faced 101 balls and he was ably supported by A Laksithan who scored 74 runs.
Batting first Sylvestrians were all out for 135 runs and Thalid Raheemdeen bowled best for Royalists with 3 for 20 runs. In reply Royal College were 207 for 4 at stumps.
