Two days after the Ides of March and four days before Spring Equinox, the Royal Turf Club is all set to once again get the adrenaline pumping in the town of Nuwara Eliya.
Today to be precise is the opening day of the 2018 Horse Racing season and for the next couple of months. With racing scheduled for the mornings, weekends in the sleepy and picturesque hamlet will be buzzing with excitement. Get ready for action as the Royal Turf Club, Nuwara Eliya gears up to open the Racing season with a bang.
The March 17 races will be named as Owners Race Day and include six races of Thoroughbreds.
There will be 5 races of class 1 to 5 and one race for three quarter breeds.
Navin Dissanayake Minister of Plantations will be the chief guest.
