The 27th MSBA League Basketball Tournament 2017, which commenced on 12th June reached its finals, after completing 113 matches on 16th August, at the Sir Edward Henry Pedris Stadium.
The tournament stopped on its tracks during the early stages with the demise of Hayleys Group player, Ranil Ganewatte, who died on court while playing against Airport & Aviation on June 28. 46 teams - 37 men in 05 divisions and 09 women in 02 divisions participated.
It is noteworthy that 04 teams who are making their debut, namely – Virtusa Polaris and Moulana Travels (Mens 'E' division), JAT Holdings (Men's 'D' division) and Fair First Insurance (Men's 'A' division) are in the finals.

Tuesday, 29th August - Men's 'D' division : LOLC Vs. JAT Holdings at 6.00 pm. Followed by the Men's 'C' division; NDB Bank Vs. Standard Chartered Bank at 7.30 pm.
Wednesday, 30th August - Women's 'B' division; HNB Vs. Commercial Credit and Finance at 6.00 pm; followed by the Men's 'A' division; Commercial Credit & Finance Vs. Fair First Insurance at 7.30 pm.
