Former Peterite skipper and Sri Lanka Under 20 Asian champion sevens captain Kevin Dixon has been drafted in to the 12 member squad due to fly-half and national player Chanaka Chandimal being moved out of the squad infected with chickenpox ahead of the Asian Sevens series-1st leg in Hong Kong to be work off on 1st and 2nd September.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily News Kevin Dixon said “I have opted out of fifteen a side rugby circuit and went through some intense seven a side rugby practices for the past three months; so I believe am fit and ready to give my utmost to the country to win the first leg in Hong Kong along with my whole squad with the grace of almighty god”.
The Sri Lanka sevens team led by hardy number eight Sudarshana Muthuthanthri will leave for Hong Kong tonight.
