St. John’s College Nugegoda emerged as unbeaten group champions in the under 13 division one cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association for the Singer Trophy and have booked a berth in the second round. They achieved this feat after a lapse of seven years and this is due to the untiring efforts of their ever green coach former Vidyalian Sumith Prasanna, the Prefect of Games W. In the first round they participated in seven matches and won four and drew three. They beat De Mazenod College Piliyandala Central, Ananda Sastraylaya Kotte and Seethawaka Vidyalaya.
