Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat Cricket Team emerged champions of the Ampara District Cricket tournament when they won the final against Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat Cricket team at the Public Playgrouds Varipathanchenai in the Irakkamam DS division recently.
This tournament was organized by the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Ampara District Office while champion teams of each Secretariat Divisions in the Ampara District took part.
The cricket tournament was held as a part of 33rd National Youth Sports Festival-2021.
Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat Cricket team won the toss and batted first and scored 65 runs in 5 over’s for loss of two wickets. In reply Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat Cricket Team, scored 57 runs in the 5overs for loss of five wickets.
The champion Akkaraipattu Divisional team, have been selected for the upcoming National level Cricket Championship – 2021 which will be conducted by the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) shortly said Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat Youth Services Officer Zameelul Ilahi.
National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Ampara District officials, Members of the Youth Clubs and many others were participated.
