Herath appointed president of SARTTF

Kanaka Herath

President of the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka (TTASL) Kanaka Herath was elected President of the South Asian Regional Table Tennis Federation (SARTTF) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Doha, Qatar yesterday.

Herath is the first Sri Lankan delegate to hold this top post. The AGM was held in parallel to the Asian Table Tennis Championships now in progress in Qatar.

The newly appointed SARTTF President Herath said: “This top post is an honour for the country and a good opportunity to develop the sport in Sri Lanka as well as in the South Asian Region.”

“I want to take Sri Lankan table tennis beyond the South Asian level and this new appointment will help me to develop this sport.”

“This new post is very important as Sri Lanka are already planning to conduct the South Asian junior table tennis championships next year.”
