Seniru Nagasinghe of Lyceum, Nugegoda and Amaya Ranasinghe of Viharamaha Devi BMV, Kiribathgoda won the Boys’ and Girls’ title respectively at the Sri Lanka Online National Rapid Chess Championships, which concluded yesterday.
Nagasinghe scored a total of 7.5 points out of a possible eight games to win the title convincingly and was unbeaten in all eight rounds recording seven wins.
Aloka Hettiarachchi of Nalanda College won the second place scoring seven points out of eight games while Dulnith Sanviru of Royal College won the third place with 6.5 points out of eight games.
Meanwhile, Ranasinghe won the title scoring the maximum seven points out of seven games.
Dulnima Rathnayake also from Viharamaha Devi BMV was placed second with six points while Jayandi Bimansa of Bandaragama Central was placed third with five points.
