Sri Lanka to play warm-up matches at Old Trafford

The Sri Lanka Cricket Team will play two Intra-Squad practice matches on June 18 and 20 at the Old Trafford Cricket Grounds in Manchester.

The 24-member Sri Lanka Squad led by Kusal Perera reached Manchester on June 9 and completed their three-day quarantine period at the hotel.

The Sri Lanka Team is scheduled to leave for Cardiff on June 20 ahead of the first T20 International against England on June 23.

After the three-match T20I series the two teams will figure in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) commencing on June 29.

Meanwhile, the 24-member Sri Lanka Cricket Squad have tested negative after their initial PCR test, a senior official of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed yesterday.

The Sri Lanka Team are set to face four PCR tests before the series gets underway.

The first and third round of testing will be conducted by the ECB while the second and fourth round of testing will be undertaken by the UK Government.

The fourth-round tests are to be carried out on Thursday under the supervision of Sri Lankan medical expert Dr. Dhanushka Wijesinghe who is accompanying the squad. (D.R)
