Volleyball coloursman Kokku Hannadige Buddhipa Manurandil has brought honour and fame to his alma mater Vijayaba National School, Hungama and Sri Lanka Army Engineering Services Regiment. He was born on 23rd August 2001 and admitted to this school in 2001 when Dharmarathne was at the helm of this school and his first class teacher was Mrs. Somawathi
When he was in Grade Six his parents K. H. Dayasena and R. P. Indrani handed over their son to this school Master in Charge and Volleyball Coach Tharaka Rathnaweera. Same year after hard practices he participated in the under 12 Mini Volleyball Tournament and their school were the Runners Up. Then in the following year in the Sri Lanka Schools Tournament they were placed fourth in the under 14 age group and in the same year in the DSI Tournament too they came fourth.
After winning all the lower tournaments in the following year in the under 16 age group they were the third in the DSI Tournament and in the All Island Schools they became fourth. In the next year they were the under 17 Runners Up of the DSI Tournament and in 2018 at the All Island under 18 Inter Schools Meet they came third and in the following year in the under 19 tournament they came third in the DSI Tournament
Same year participating in the Open under 25 Rupavahini meet they could not come up to expectations. But they came among the Best Eight Schools in the island. He was awarded school colours in 2018 and presently he is representing the Engineering Services Regiment Team of the Sri Lanka Army.
