Gold Star Youth Club, Maha Gonaduwa, in the Kalutara Division with a total of 171 points and Sura Bilindu Youth Club (138 points) won the Overall Championship and runner up positions at the 33rd Kalutara Provincial Inter Youth Club Athletic meet organized by the National Youth Services Council (NYSC ), and held at the Holy Cross College playground recently.
Kalutara Damnada Youth Club, Moronthuduwa was placed third with 125.
This Annual Athletic Meet, mainly organized by the Kalutara Divisional Youth Service Officer, K.Ruwantha Malinga, under the directions of Kalutara District Youth Service Officer Lalith Wanniarachchi and Kalutara DS Mr. Shamika Thrimanna,
The event was very successfully concluded amidst a big, gathering of supporters of the winning clubs, Youth Clubs, Gold Star and Surabilindu.
Cups,certificates and prizes were distributed by the chief guest Mr. Jayathilaka Adikaari, the Kalutara District Director of the NYSC, with the participation of veteren Asian Silver Medalist Athlete Mr. Nayana Prasad Dharmarathna, Kalutara Divisional Secretariate’s Youth Service Officer K.Ruwantha Malinga and several Youth Service Officers attached to the Kalutara DS.
