Sri Lanka’s Ushan Thiwanka produced a personal best of 2.26 metres in the Men’s high jump event at the NCAA Division 11 Indoor Track and Field Championship worked off in Alabama, USA.
With this performance, he was able to set up a new National Indoor record while erasing his own record of 2.25m which he established last month.
This indoor record is also the second best performance by a Sri Lankan athlete behind Manjula Kumara’s effort of 2.27m.
The former schoolboy of Maris Stella College, Negombo is presently training in Texas in USA in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics. (D.R)
