Super Kings claim ASL football title

Super Kings SC players and officials celebrate with the trophy

Super Kings SC emerged champions of the inaugural ASL Football Tournament when they defeated Racing Stars SC 1-0 in the final encounter played in Kinniya, Trincomalee on Sunday.

T. M. Roshan scored the solitary goal for the winners through a penalty in the 29th minute of the first half. Earlier, in the semi-finals Super Kings SC defeated Jupiters SC 3-1 with T. M. Roshan (1) and M. Nifraz (2) doing the scoring for the winners while M. J. M. Rifkan scored a consolation goal for Jupiters SC.

In the second semi-final, Racing Stars SC beat Super Fighters SC 2-1.

M. Mufees and Mohamed Abbas scored a goal each for Racing Stars SC while M. Aflal scored the solitary goal for Super Fighters SC.
