Samith Isuru of Karandeniya Central the leading all-rounder in division two

Samith Isuru skipper of Karandeniya Central College was the leading all-rounder of the Under 19 Division Two Inter Schools Cricket (Two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association in the last season.

Fourth year right hand batsman Isuru scored 1,224 runs in 15 matches.

He maintained a 45.33 average with a double century, two centuries and seven half centuries. His best batting performance was 228 runs against Taxila Central College Horana.

He made two centuries against Christ the King Ja- Ela and Revatha MV Balapitiya.

He made half centuries against St. Peter’s Negombo, St. Thomas’ Matale, Galahitiyawa Central, Holy Cross Kalutara, Kalutara Vidyalaya, and P. de S. Kularatne Ambalangoda.

Highest wicket-taker

Right arm leg spinner Samith Isuru was the highest wicket-taker in division two tournament capturing 122 wickets for 1,601 runs in the season with 11 five wicket hauls.

His best bowling performance in an innings was 8 for 92 against Piliyandala Central College. His best bowling performance in a game was a matchbag of 11 for 63 against Holy Cross College Kalutara. He claimed 2 ten wicket and 12 five wicket hauls.

His best all-round performance was 228 and 31 runs and 6 for 81 and 2 for 94 against Taxila Central College Horana.

He scored 1013 runs and claimed 95 wickets in the season of 2018/2019. He commenced school cricket from under 13 age limit. He was vice captain of the under 13 division two runner up team in 2014.

He was deputy skipper of the college under 15 team. He represented the Galle team in the under 19 Super Provincial Championship in 2019 conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket.
