Sujan to be selected as National soccer captain

A Press release from the Football Federation of Sri Lanka states that National Football coach has decided to appoint Sujan Perera as the captain of the national team. This decision has been taken after coach and the Selection Committee consulted him on his stay in Sri Lanka to lead the side. Sujan has confirmed that he will not be out of the country to take up contracts to play in foreign soil.

Earlier too Sujan was appointed to lead the team but due to his commitment with Maldivian Club he declined to take over the captaincy as he was not able to be with the team for practices and other activities. As he is ready to accept the position stating that he will be available throughout the year head coach and the Selection Committee decided to offer the captaincy to this top class goal keeper, Sujan Perera, said a FFSL official.
