The Football Federation of Sri Lanka with intention of giving the players the much needed exposure after the long break due to the Coronavirus epidemic has decided to conduct the President’s Gold Cup Football Tournament from July 26, 2020. Twenty teams will compete in this tournament with the teams already having started practices with the funds provided by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka. The tournament will be conducted only at two venues-the Sugathadasa Stadium and Colombo Race Course under Health Ministry guidelines.
The teams which will Vie for the Trophy are Defenders, Colombo Football League, Blue Stars SC, Sea House SC, Renown SC, Ratnam SC, Up Country Lions, Blue Eagles SC, Red Stars SC, York SC, Java Lane, Saunders, Sri Lanka Police Serendib SC, Crystal Palace, Super Sun SC, New Star SC, Sri Lanka Transport Board and Moragasmulla Football Club.
