Sri Lanka Chess Grand Prix from July 11

The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is ready to resume chess, following the end of the lockdowns for Covid-19. One of the strongest events in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Grand Prix 2020 is set to start with 12 top-seed players of Sri Lanka; from July 11 to 19.

The event will be round robin, a 11 round event which is played on Fisher mode.

Reigning Champion - Chandana Wijekoon, Former National Chess Champion - G.C. Anuruddha & Minul Sanjula Doluweera, International Master - Romesh Weerawardena, 2019 National Team player, Young L.M.S.T. De Silva, Under 16 National Champion - Kevin Ranindu Silva, National Amateur Champion - E.D.S Chandula, Buddhika Amarasinghe, Seniors - Dimuthu Priyadarhana & Elath Mathanga, Young stars - Jenith Weeratunge & Thisal Manjith Piyumantha will compete for supremacy. - YK
