Wadduwa Central Boys , Girls under 20 cricket and elle champions

Wadduwa Central College created history by emerging champions in the under 20 boys double championships at the recently held Panadura Division Inter school games, organised by the Sports Unit of the Kalutara Zonal Education office.

Wadduwa Centralian girls (under 20) won two championships in Elle and Cricket while the boys too won the same championships (Under 20 cricket and under 20 Elle). Under 20 boys Cricket Runner up was Panadura Royal and under 20 girls elle Runner-up was Panadura Sri Sumangala Girls NS. Under 20 Girls Cricket Runner up was Panadura Sumangala Boys National School.

Meanwhile it is very important to mention that Wadduwa Centralians’ Under 13 junior cricket team has qualified to play at the under 13 inter school Division two cricket tournaments final round, organized by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka Ltd.

Wadduwa Central's Junior cricket team recorded a first innings win at the Pre-quarter tournament, played against Lyceum International School and C. W. W. Kannangara Vidyalaya Matugama and qualified for the final round.

A Sahan Deshan performed very well in bringing the centralian squad to an outright victory with a fine double and this cricketing hero has piled up 523 runs and taken 42 wickets in 12 matches and his total of 523 runs includes four half centuries.

Throughout this tournament Deshan Madhushanka who did well in batting became the very first bowler to take over 50 wickets by claiming 56 wickets and his record includes six times where he took over five wickets in an innings. He has collected 296 runs with the bat.

Wadduwa Central's Cricket teams, (junior and senior) is coached by Dhanushka Ranmuthu (Head Coach) and Shehan Dilshan (Asst.Coach) on the instructions of the college's Sports teacher Lahiru Perera and the

Principal S. D. N. Gunarathna. WCC junior cricket team is captained by E. Chamuditha Mihiranga.
