The active coaches who work from 2014 have to register first and make the coaches National list ot obtain the official identity card under the new programme. The Sports Minster has already given instructions to work out this programme for the benefit of sports development.

The Minister who assumied duty last November investigated several issues in the sports field and the coaches identification is one important proposal to work out.

To make this a success Minister also has given instructions to activate the Sports Act to register coaches and address their issues of the official identity card.

After issuing this official identity cards from January 1, 2022 none of the coaches could do their coaching with out this official identity card. If any coach to do his coaching he should register and get an official identity card.

The coaches who want to get more information about this system can log into www.niss.gov.lk at the National sports science institute web site.

This new system is very important for all athletes to get proper guidance from the coaches.

Today most of the coaches with out proper qualifications do coaching and this is the main reason for not producing quality athletes. They don’t have new technology and some times they make short term methods like using banned substances.
