Fawzia Dole, a hockey player from Kandy and a product of Girls High School passed away on Monday and her Janaza took place the same day at the Mathagoda Jumma Mosque Aranayake. Fawzia gave a big hand for Kandy women’s sports. She was the wife of sportsman Azad Dole who played cricket as an opening bowler for Kingswood College and St. Anthony’s College and for Central Province Schools in the Observer Shield inter- zonal tournament. He was also a rugby forward and captained St. Anthony’s College in 1974 and later played for Kandy SC and CR & FC.
Fawzia is survived by her husband and two daughters Nilma and Shenali.
