St. John’s leading on first innings

St. John’s College Jaffna leading first inning against Jaffna Central College against on day two of the “114th Battle of the North” annual cricket encounter (3 day) played at the Jaffna Central College grounds yesterday.

St. John’s Jaffna won the toss and elected to field. Jaffna Central bowled out for150 runs in 57.3 overs.

St. John’s Jaffna made 291 runs in 106 overs. A. Sukethan scored 49 runs. T. Dinoshan scored 44 runs and K. Sabesan made 43 runs. T. Vinojan (27), A. Abishek (25), A. Saran (24*), S. Piraavan (18) and N. Sawmiyan (16) helped to build their innings. K. Sabesan and A. Abishek had a 55 run stand for 7th wicket T. Vithushan took 5 wickets for 79 runs and V. Viyaskahn took 3 wickets for 80 runs. Jaffna Central scored 51 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs in their second innings at close in day two. T. Dinoshan took 2 wickets for 7 runs. St. John’s Jaffna leading 90 run so far.

Match will be continued today on day three.
