Thilak Wattuhewa, Principal of Nalanda College was elected the new president of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association at their 71st Annual General Meeting held at the Ministry of Education yesterday.
Wattuhewa a former vice president recorded a landslide victory beating former vice president, principal of P de S. Kularatne MV Ambalangoda Jagath Senaratne by 166 votes to 58.
Former secretary of the Schools Cricket Association Dilshan de Silva was beaten by former under 19 tournament secretary J.A.K.S. Indrajith who polled 135 votes to 70 for the post of general secretary. Jaliya Jayantha of Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo came third with 36 votes.
Manjula Vaz of St.Peter’s College Negombo (144 votes) was elected treasurer beating DM Rajaratne of Lumbini College (40 votes) and Wasantha Kariyawasam of President’s College Maharagama (28 votes).

Kularatne MV Ambalangoda 92 votes), Nadith Jayaweera (Principal, Lalith Athulathmudali MV Mt. Lavinia 77 votes).
Secretary: J.A.K.S. Indrajith (Kegalu Vidyalaya 135 votes)
Treasurer: Manjula Vaz (St. Peter’s College Negombo 144 votes)
Assistant Secretary: Leelananda Kumarasiri (TZuchi National School Hambantota uncontested)
Assistant Treasurer: Pradeep Kumara Dharmasena (Sri Buddha Jayanthi MMV, Balangoda 93 votes)
