Old Sokians, Friendship TT Club win top divisions

Old Sokians SC and Friendship Table Tennis Club won men's and women's 'A' division champions respectively in the National Veteran's Inter-club TT Tournament worked off at the S. Thomas' College indoor stadium, Mount Lavinia recently.

Champion Old Sokians team included Chathura Dushan, Chamila Suranga, Nalin Thushara and Geethan Deshapriya while victoriuos Friendship TT Club comprised Thamara Hewage and Ira Ruwanpathirana.

Sri Lanka Navy and Butterfly 'A' emerged the men's 'A' division joint runner-up while Jaffna SC clinched the women's 'A' division runner-up possition.

Stag TT Academy won the men's 'B' division title and Government Press became the runner-up.

Men's 'C' division saw Pears V winning the top title while Commercial Bank 'B' secured the runner-up possition.

Men’s 'A' Division:

Joint Runner-ups: Sri Lanka Navy - T S K Weerakoon, W M A Bowaththa, B N K Fernando, P D I P Silva

Butterfly 'A' - Dr Dushyantha Wariyapola, Dr Dietmar Doering, Lalith Priyantha, Samith Prasad

Men’s 'B' Division

Champions: Stag Table Tennis Academy - M Sanjeewa Mendis,Hunaid Hatim, Sampath Jayashantha, Chammika Obeysinghe

Runner-up: Govt: Press - Athula Hettiarachchi, Isuru Sri Sampath, R D Sarath Kumara, P D Gajendrasiri

Men’s 'C' Division

Champions: Pears V - Sumith Rohana, Priyarajan Sathiyadas, Fazly Mohamed, Kovida Guruge

Runner-up: Commercial Bank 'B' - D. Rohan John, R N Udawatte, D K S S Piyaratne

Women’s 'A' Division:

Champions: Friendship TT Club - Thamara Hewage, Ira Ruwanpathirana

Runners-up: Jaffna SC - Srimythilee Sinnappa, Nirmala Hariharan
