Wadduwa Balika Vidyalaya for the very first time, won a volleyball championship and a runner-up position at the recently conducted Panadura Divisional Inter-School volleyball competition organized by the Sports Unit of the Kalutara Zonal Education Office.
Wadduwa Balika Vidyalaya’s Sports teacher, Mrs Shyamali Jayawardena said that their school’s Under 16 (Girls) Volleyball Team won the championship and under 18 volleyball team won the Panadura Division runner up position.
The noteworthy fact is that Hemal Fonseka one of the minor staff members at Panadura Mahanama College, coached these two victorious teams as Wadduwa Balika Vidyalaya has no coach.
