The fourth edition of Vidudaya-Ritzbury All Island Inter-School Swimming Championship 2019 organised by Sri Jayawardenepura University will be held on March 9 and 10 at Sri Jayawardenepura University swimming pool complex.
Sri Lanka’s number one chocolate brand Ritzbury taking a revolutionary step to sponsor swimming and from last year the event was renamed as Vidudaya-Ritzbury Inter School Swimming Championship.
The championship will attract over 2,000 swimmers from over 120 schools and there will be 96 individual and 24 relay events with under 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 competitors vying for junior, senior and overall championship trophies for boys and girls categories at the Sri Lanka’s largest swimming pool.
Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya and Piliyandala Central College won the girls and boys overall champions trophies respectively at the last year’s event.
General Manager (Marketing) of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, Nilupul de Silva commented, “We are committed to motivating more and more young sportsmen and women to give off their best and excel in swimming. We are honoured and privileged to partner with the Sri Jayawardenepura University to offer this great opportunity to all budding swimmers to showcase their talents.”
Ritzbury has been sponsoring the Sir John Tarbet School Athletic Championship, Junior National Squash Championship, Inter International Schools Athletic Meet and the Mercantile Athletic Meet.
