Piliyandala Central College who are in the division two of the inter-schools cricket tournament completed their first eleven cricket season in grand style when they were unbeaten throughout the season. This is the first instance in their history of school cricket they achieved this feat and in the ongoing division two inter-schools cricket tournament they beat St. Peters College to qualify for the semi finals. They are captained by Malshan Gunatilleke and coached by former Cambrian Cricketer Eranga Gunarathna. Prior to the Big Match which ended in a draw in favour of Centralians they have played 15 matches including seven tournament games. They won ten matches outright and the rest six games ended in draws. They won the limited over too.

Their Chief run fetter Chamod Sandaru scored 1254 runs including a century against their arch rivals Taxila Central. Last year too he completed 1000 runs and scored a century in the Big Match and became the first ever Centralian to achieve this very rare feat. Their all rounder and former skipper Heshan Madushanka scored 834 runs and claimed 94 wickets. Ruchira Adikari too scored 750 runs.
